Of course, in fall 2025, we in the USA also had tariffs to contend with (which I had honestly forgotten about until I was hit with the bill… oof), but they had some wonderful sounding coffees featured so I joined forces with a friend and got a large order. This is one of those coffees.

Whole bean: These weren’t particularly fragrant or remarkable in their whole form; just a typical looking dry (non-oily) light roast. However, once ground, what a treat!

French press: Tasted like pears and honey. So delicious.

Hario V60: Clean, toasty cup with with the sweetness of pears and buttery notes on the finish.

Clever Dripper: I had been using bleached Melitta #4 filters in my Clever Dripper and not liking how much flavor those filters seemed to suck out of the brewing process (so many cups of bland coffee!), so for this try, I used a Hario V60 filter. It was pretty good – the smoothest cup of the four in this review. It did have the least amount of flavor, but still pleasant to drink and not disappointing.

Chemex: Tangy, with notes of rainier cherries and honey.

Summary: 49th Parallel rarely misses in my opinion with their single origins, and this was a real winner. I loved the notes of pear and honey, and it made a delicious cup of coffee in all four of the brewing methods I tried, but I think the French press and V60 were my favorites.

From the roaster: pear, honey, jasmine

Because so many months have passed between me buying this coffee and writing this review, this single-origin is no longer available for sale, but below is a link to their current offerings.

49th Parallel Coffee Roasters Online Store

Review conducted 37-38 days post-roast.

This review is long overdue, as I did this tasting back in December 2025, but life has been hectic so writing up coffee bean reviews had to wait! 49th Parallel is one of my favorite roasters, but I don’t order from them too often due to distance and international shipping.
